And so it begins ...
“Awaken, traveler. The chains that bound you are broken, though not by chance.
Every soul that walks these lands begins in darkness, and only through struggle do they step into the light.”
Your journey begins in captivity. Escape is your first trial — a test of wit and courage that all must face. When you emerge beyond the prison walls, the world awaits.
The first trial
Behind stone and iron, you will learn to endure. Keep your eyes open, trust your instincts, and follow the path to freedom. These first steps will prepare you for the challenges that lie ahead.
The Boatsman
“At the water’s edge he waits… the Boatsman. He asks no questions, gives no counsel.
Yet his oar stirs the sea, and his course is guided by fate itself.”
The Boatsman will carry you across the waves, setting you ashore at a place unknown. No two travelers begin alike — your path will start where the sea delivers you. (See The Boatsman for details.)
Provisions for the journey
To aid you in your first days, you will be granted a few simple gifts: armor to guard your body, tools to shape the land, and food to sustain you. They are not treasures, but they will keep you alive until you find your own. (See Traveler’s provisions for details.)
Choosing your path
“Beyond this point, no voice shall guide you but your own. Some bind themselves to kingdoms and even nations, building hearth and home. Others wander the wilds, carving their tale into stone and soil.
Whatever course you take, remember: this world is alive, and your story is now a part of it.”
From here, you may:
- Learn to navigate
- Seek out a Kingdom or Nation to join or create your own.
- Wander and claim a place to call your own.
- Learn the ways of Trade and economy.
