🐱 M’aiq the Liar

Few figures in Tamriel are as mysterious—or as entertaining—as M’aiq the Liar.
From Morrowind to Oblivion, Skyrim, and beyond, M’aiq has always been a wandering storyteller who mixes lies, rumors, half-truths, and glimpses of the future.

M’aiq knows much, tells some. M’aiq knows many things others do not.

On our Elder Scrolls Minecraft server, M’aiq returns once again: a wandering NPC in the Imperial City who drops hints about upcoming updates, references past events, and teases hidden secrets on the server.

🐉 M’aiq and His Knowledge of Dragons

In true Elder Scrolls fashion, M’aiq speaks in riddles when discussing dragons and dragon eggs.

On our server, this was more than a joke—
M’aiq’s cryptic lines contained real hints that helped players learn how to hatch dragonlings.

🚢 The Octarian Joke — A Community Meme Turned Canon

One of M’aiq’s funniest lines references Octarian, the NPC tied to a long-stalled main quest step.

“M’aiq met a man who said he would sail soon. ‘Soon,’ he said. That was many moons ago… Perhaps Octarian needs a special wind.”

For months, Octarian insisted he would “sail soon,” yet nothing happened.

🦀 “M’aiq Saw a Mudcrab…” — A Hint at Things to Come?

“M’aiq saw a mudcrab the other day. Horrible creatures.”

Mudcrabs are not yet common wildlife—but M’aiq’s dialogue often foreshadows upcoming content.

🧭 Where to Find M’aiq

He does not stay in one location for long, reinforcing his reputation as a drifter and observer of all things strange. He rarely leaves the city, he never leaves the island around the imperial city.
